Surveyor’s Meadow and Vagabond Peak on a Fall Afternoon, Bishop Creek Canyon
I photographed this scene on my annual fall trip to the Sierra in October 2024. My friend Jonathan and I spotted this grove of aspens next to the road which framed up Vagabond Peak in the distance. However, the overcast skies that afternoon meant that the aspens in the foreground remained somewhat muted. We waited as the sun appeared and disappeared behind the clouds several times, until both the peak and the aspens were lit.
